Concert Review: Mt. Eddy

On December 22, 2017, Mt. Eddy played a show at 924 Gilman in Berkeley, California. Destroy Boys, Dog Party, and Small Crush opened for them.

Price $$$

Admission to this show was only $12, but if you are a Gilman member you could get in for $10. The Gilman membership is great if you go to lots of shows there because for $2 you can get discounted admission for a whole year.

Venue 9/10

924 Gilman is a great venue. It has so much history and is a classic venue in the DIY scene. The walls look really cool because they’re covered with graffiti from over the years. The stage is in the corner, so there is lots of room for the crowd to mosh and dance. The only real drawbacks are the limited access to water and it can get kinda stuffy. However, in between bands, they open the side door so the room can cool down. Also, this venue is drug and alcohol free, so you won’t be slipping on beer in the pit or worried about creepy drunk people trying to grope you.

Crowd 7/10

The crowd was pretty engaged during Destroy Boys and was very excited about Mt. Eddy. It was more chill during Dog Party and Small Crush. A pit started every so often, especially during Destroy Boys and Mt. Eddy. Overall, there was a good energy from everybody there.

Lineup 8/10

Mt. Eddy and Destroy Boys are two of our favorite bands, so we knew that the lineup was going to be great. This was our first time seeing Small Crush and we really liked them and their music. Their set was fun because it was pretty mellow and we got to dance around with our friends and have a good time. We’ll definitely see them again.

This show was super fun. It is the last one we will be going to this year, so it was a great one to finish on. Happy New Year!!!

See you at the next show!
